Skolkovo Robotics International Forum

On April 24, Skolkovo, the giant tech center under completion on the outskirts of Moscow, will host the sixth edition of Skolkovo Robotics International Forum, which is presented as “the biggest industry event in Eastern Europe.” Some 5,000 attendees are expected, including over 100 international experts from the United States, Germany, France, South Korea, Israel, and Canada.
The forum, which seeks to be a platform for effective dialogue between companies working in the real sector, industry professionals, venture investors and startups,
will feature a number of sessions on robotics, as well as practical and educational master classes, and business meetings.
Among the expected speakers are:
- Lee Soo-Young, director of Brain Science Research Center, Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST);
- Alon Wolf, founder and director of Biorobotics and Biomechanics Lab, Technion; co-founder at Medrobotics;
- Emilio Frazzoli, CTO at nuTonomy Inc.;
- Mike Mayer, head of the Technical Department for Mechatronic Gripping Systems, SCHUNK;
- Yekaterina Berezii, CEO at ExoAthlete (a company developing medical exoskeletons for rehabilitation);
- Olga Uskova, founder and president of Cognitive Technologies (a Russian company developing software and IT solutions);
- Aleksei Yuzhakov, CEO at Promobot; creator of the first autonomous promoter robot.
Besides, the forum will feature an 8,000 sq.m exhibition of local and international robotics projects with the highest per square meter density of exhibits in Eastern Europe.
Among the speakers from the previous years are representatives of the international companies such as International Federation of Robotics, Facebook AI Research, Amazon, Moley Robotics, Ekso Bionics, FANUC, KUKA Robotics, as well as such universities as the MIT, Stanford University, Imperial College London, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Carnegie Mellon University, among others.
