Ericsson commits to Russia’s Skolkovo Innovation Center

Formally announced after the meeting between Swedish and Russian prime ministers, Ericsson’s participation in Russia’s Skolkovo Innovation Center draws on the company’s 120 years of collaboration with Russia on ICT modernization. The strategic agreement will help drive innovation and development in the country’s science and technology sectors.

Rusnano to finance MRAM project with France’s Crocus Technology

Rusnano will finance the first production of MRAM memory chips in Russia in cooperation with Crocus Technology, based in Grenoble, France, the Russian press reported. Production will be organized through a technology transfer of chip design and packaging. The project will focus on producing Secure Digital (SD), MiniSD/MicroSD, and USB 1.1/2.0/3.0 flash memory cards.

President Medvedev calls to “work, not sleep” on the Skolkovo project

Microsoft announces launch of first Russian “cloud” service

The Russian office of Microsoft has officially announced the launch of operations of Russia’s first cloud-based business product service, Office 365, which will provide small and midsize companies with remote access to an online repository of documents by the end of the year.

PayPal in talks with mobile operators to enter the Russian market

PayPal, the leading international online payment company, has according to unnamed sources taken “the strategic decision” to enter the Russian market, reported RBC Daily. The business daily also reported—and PayPal confirmed to EWDN—that PayPal is holding discussions with MTS, VimpelCom and MegaFon, Russia’s leading mobile operators.
