Harman’s car entertainment systems to be outsourced to Russia’s Luxoft

Luxoft announced that it has agreed with Harman International to design and develop sophisticated infotainment systems for the automotive industry. Part of the Moscow-based IBS Group and traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Luxoft is a prominent offshore software developer with headquarters in Moscow.

Parallels Research gets Skolkovo grant for cloud development

Parallels Research, an international research center owned by Parallels, announced last week it has received a 150 million ruble grant ($5.3 million) from the Skolkovo Foundation for cloud computing research and development. VimpelCom begins testing NFC-based payment system in St. Pete subway

As of June 1, VimpelCom, a leading mobile operator in Russia under the Beeline brand, will begin testing their wireless payment system, developed by Ambiq Technologies, in the St. Petersburg subway system. London-based fund invests $2.5 million in Russian LinkedIn

Professionali.ru, the second largest Russian professional social network after Yandex’s MoiKrug, announced it has raised $2.5 million from Open Capital, a London-based venture capital fund investing in Russia and other former Soviet states. The news has been reported by Unova, a Russian website specializing in local innovation and venture news.
