Russian and Chinese technoparks strike cooperation agreement

Last week, “Zhigulyovskaya Dolina,” a technopark nearing completion in Russia’s Samara region, and China’s Tsinghua Science Park (TusPark) of Tsinghua University in Beijing signed a memorandum of cooperation.

TusPark specializes in commercializing science and technology research.

According to Valery Dunisov, CEO of Zhigulyovskaya Dolina, the technopark’s future residents will focus predominantly on IT, space and production technologies, transport, energy efficiency, new materials, and chemicals.

The construction of Zhigulyovskaya Dolina, a 26-hectare facility, has been underway since 2010, aided by a federal program. The complex is expected to create 4,000 jobs. There are currently 32 resident companies there, including China’s Huawei.
