Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has ordered that federal agencies be provided with digital signature technology by June 2011 and that they begin using an electronic document management (EDM) system in January 2012.
EDM has been adopted in accordance with federal program “Information Society,” approved by Putin in November 2010.
The Russian Ministry of Communications will both use and manage the new technology and EDM system.
