SAP recognized SAP Russia as its most successful subsidiary in 2010, with the 5th highest contribution to the overall corporate revenue of all its divisions, reports Vedomosti, a Russian business daily.
SAP revenues in CIS countries (including sales through partners) grew by 53% and software sales grew by 84%. The main reason for the increase is assumed to be a contract between SAP and Gazprom. The division also found new clients in the public sector and among banks, where turnover grew by 250% and 370%, respectively.
According to IDC, in 2009 the Russian market for ERP-systems reached $ 492.2 million, of which SAP accounted for 50.1% (i.e., approximately $ 246.6 million).
The turnover of 1C, the main Russian rival of SAP in the CIS, reached $620 million in 2010, according to CNews Analytics. This represented a 20% increase from the previous year, says the company.
