Groupon Russia has made its offer available in “Cool discounts,” an application of Odnoklassniki.ru, a leading Russian-language social network.
Odnoklassniki users (17.9 million last month, according to TNS) may now view Groupon’s offers, inform friends about new offers and make discounted purchases with one click.
Groupon Russia offers discounted services in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Volgograd and Rostov-on-Don, as well as Kiev and Kharkov in Ukraine. Groupon plans to cover about 30 cities by the end of 2011.
Groupon came to Russia in August 2010, having absorbed its Russian copycat Darberry.ru, created a few months earlier.
Odnoklassniki.ru is owned by Mail.ru Group, an LSE-listed Russian Internet group (formerly DST). “Cool discounts” was launched in early 2010.
