Russian early stage venture fund Runa Capital shook hands with the Skolkovo Foundation, the state-owned organization leading the completion of the major innovation hub on the outskirts of Moscow, reported Russian business daily Vedomosti. The deal outlines provisions for Runa to collaborate with Skolkovo over the next three years and invest $5 million into the projects of the Skolkovo technological cluster. Skolkovo, in turn, will provide Runa Capital with information about applicants for investments.
Runa Capital was founded in 2010 by a team of Russian and international tech entrepreneurs including Sergey Belousov and Ilya Zubarev, the founders of Parallels and data security solutions provider Acronis, and venture capital veteran Sasha Galitsky. Currently Runa Capital manages $75 million in capital and share assets. This year, it has already invested in Metabar, a Russian startup offering customizable toolbars, and in Travelmenu, a Russian-Ukrainian site offering a suite of travel products.
