Liqvid, a Russian startup registered in Singapore, has launched an online service for small business outlets to manage content on POS screens.
“In just a few clicks,” shop owners can easily set up broadcasting, download content in any format, create promotional materials — from offers of the day to discounts, — display this content to an unlimited number of screens, and more.
“This is the first product on the market that makes it possible to abandon flash drives and complex software and hardware solutions. You can do everything yourself without experience, additional staff or anyone else’s help in a matter of minutes directly from your mobile phone,” says Liqvid co-founder Alexander Soloviev.
Previously, only large companies could afford such sophisticated software, he notes. Now shop owners can subscribe to Liqvid for $11.90 per month.
In an exchange with East-West Digital News, Soloviev conceded that some existing products had a similar approach — citing the example of Fugo.ai.
However, Liqvid has specific advantages, he stressed out: “First, we offer true self service: everyone can understand and start using our platform within 15 minutes. Second, your mobile is all you need to run your TV screens” — which is relevant for most shop owners who only have their mobile phones in the venue.
R&D in Russia, business unit in Singapore
Now available in Google Play store, Liqvid claims more than 1,500 paid or trial users. Half of them came from Russia, the other half from other parts of the world including the USA and South-East Asia.
By the end of the year, the company hopes to connect 10,000 screens in several countries .
“We are planning a massive EU market entry from January 2021 and seeking local partners. Now we are in talks with partners from the Netherlands and Germany, and have first trial users in London.”
Future versions of the product will include content exchange with other screens of other entrepreneurs, as well as mechanisms for tracking the audience and working with traffic.
Liqvid has developed another product, Liqvid AdPro, touted as a “powerful advertising screen management tool at reasonable prices.”
Founded in Moscow in 2018, Liqvid has its R&D team in Russia and a business unit in Singapore. In 2020, the company secured a pre-seed round of $1 million: the money was brought by Maxim Tkachev, one of the founders of the Russian outdoor advertising operator Russ Outdoor.
Soloviev told EWDN he plans to raise a seed round at the end of 2021: “We’ll have a great traction and client base in target regions, and we’ll be ready for scale up.”
