The 13th edition of Midemlab, the leading international music startup competition, will take place on June 2-5, 2020 in Cannes, France, in partnership with East-West Digital News. This year, Midemlab launches a brand new “Music Live Experiences” category that will spotlight the most innovative solutions around Live Music for bands, fans, venues, producers, promoters and more.
Russian startups are welcome to participate. This is an opportunity for them – as well as for projects from other CEE countries – to find new business partners, raise funding, gain international visibility and recognition from the industry.
Through this call for entries, 20 finalists will be selected by Midem partners. These include Music Ally, the leading consulting firm for digital music, The Lynk, an agency that connects startups with players from the creative industries , and music tech venture firm Plus 8 Equity.
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a new company (less than five year-old)
- Be business-ready: already launched or in beta stage
- Be independent (not affiliated to a group)
- Be genuinely original and innovative, with international viability
- Be available to attend Midem on June 2-5 if selected to pitch.

What the finalists will get:

The winners’ package will include: free registration for Midem 2021; free legal, PR and marketing advice; a free mentoring session; a private 1-to-1 session with a venture firm; individual meetings with top-level executives of the industry; free one-year subscription to a professional music bulletin; additional media exposure; free banner advertising on midem.com.
Since the inception of Midemlab in 2008, 250 music startups from 36 countries have taken part in the competition.
