Samsung dominates Russian smartphone market with nearly 30% share

The Russian smartphone market continues to grow compared to other parts of the world where mobile Internet penetration has peaked. In this blog, Russian Search Marketing compares smartphone manufacturers’ distribution in Russia to the top 10 smartphone manufacturers’ distribution globally during 2017.

According to research from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service, smartphone distribution in Russia increased by 7% annually, and 38% sequentially during Q3 of 2017. This differs from the global market, because according to Flurry Analytics for the most part session growth had stalled in 2017 for most of the major smartphone manufacturers.

In Russia, global brands made up 58% of the smartphone market shares. According to Flurry Analytics, the top 10 smartphone manufacturers globally are Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, LG, Motorola, Vivo, Sony, and Lenovo. According to Counterpoint Market Monitor Service, the top 5 smartphone manufacturers in Russia are Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Bright & Quick, and Xiaomi.
