Russian developers and designers of web and mobile applications are invited to AngelHack 2017, a series of 24-hour hackathons held in 29 countries worldwide.
In Russia, the hackathons will be held in Innopolis (April 22-23), Kaliningrad (May 27-28), Saint Petersburg (June 3-4) and Moscow (June 10-11), following a first event in Novosibirsk on April 15-16.
Participants are challenged to create a working prototype of a mobile or web application within 24 hours. Teams can use any subject and platform. The prototype has to have the maximum level of technical implementation and client appeal, as well as have an original idea and design.
The winners will be selected by a group of renowned IT experts, including representatives of VimpelCom, Innopolis, Trinity Digital, Voximplant, GDG and Apps4All.
The best team in each city will benefit from a 12-week online training program by HACKcelerator. Selected by HACKcelerator, the best 25 teams from around the world will participate in the global Demo Day in San Francisco.
In Russia, the hackathon series will enjoy the support from a number of local partners, including Beeline, GDG, Servers.com and Gagarin Capital.
“As Beeline is seeking to transform from a telecom operator into a technological company, establishing a favourable environment for the development of Russian high-tech companies is among our priorities.
We not only create innovative, market-changing products for our customers, but also support Beeline’s complementary startups. AngelHack is a strategic partner for us on this path,” George Held, vice president of the digital and new business development unit at PJSC VimpelCom (brand Beeline) said.
In Novosibirsk, Beeline established its own Augmented Reality nomination with a prize fund of 50,000 rubles (around $900 at the current exchange rate). The best team also benefited from the opportunity to work in the company.
Another local partner, Servers.com, will present each of the five winning teams with a voucher for $500 for servers.com.
