Rostelecom to build a $110 million line between Russia and Kaliningrad

National telecom operator Rostelecom is considering building a $110 million submarine communication line between St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad region, reports ComNews.ru, a site specializing in the Russian telecom and IT markets.

The company might carry out the project with partner investors or on its own, ComNews.ru says.

Under plans, the new line is to connect Russia not only with Kaliningrad region, but also with Denmark, Sweden and, possibly, Baltic states. The project is currently under consideration. Its timeframes and other parameters have yet to be disclosed.
