Moscow Seed Fund and Softline invest in innovative IaaS platform

Moscow-based IT service provider Active Cloud Development has teamed up with Moscow Seed Fund and Softline Venture Partners to develop an innovative IaaS (infrastructure as a service) platform christened “CloudBox.” The three partners have brought in $1 million to finance the project.

Designed for data centers, mobile operators, and government organizations, the platform is described as a “universal software instrument” which will enable its users to manage such diverse cloud solutions as those of CloudStack, VMware, OpenStack, and CloudFoundry.

Softline Venture Partners is the venture arm of the Softline Group, a leading player on the Russian software licensing market.

Launched by the Moscow city authorities to foster innovation in the capital, the Moscow Seed Fund has already co-invested with a dozen of venture funds and business angels in a variety of startups.

Its most recent co-investment with Softline’s fund, this past June, involved ITMan, a startup providing SMB companies with SaaS solutions to control IT assets.
