Crypto cyberthreats spike this year with Russia hit the hardest, report reveals

Threats related to cryptocurrencies have increased alongside rising crypto prices over the past few months, shows a recent report by ESET.

The Russian Federation is the country that has suffered the most from cyber threats related to cryptocurrencies this year, accounting for 8.9% of all attacks. G7 leaders recently called on the government in Moscow to identify those who abuse cryptocurrency in ransomware attacks, as Bitcoin.com News earlier reported. Russia is followed closely by Thailand, with 5.6% of the detections, and Peru comes in third with 5.3%.
