New remote opportunities in the Baltics for tech talents worldwide (online fair, April 8)

On April 8, the online fair ‘Your Next Move: Spotlight on the Baltics‘ will highlight the region’s fast-growing tech ecosystem and its opportunities for international talents, including from Russian-speaking countries.

This online event aims to position Latvia, in particular, as a first-choice destination to build a professional carrier or do business within a number of companies, from promising startups to established players.

‘Spotlight in the Baltics’ offers an opportunity to discover over 16,000 open start-up job opportunities, learn about the immigration procedures, state support initiatives, tax infrastructure, the process of registering a company in Latvia and much more. The event will also allow participants to meet startup recruiters, get individual consultations on relocation, learn from case studies and find out about the vacancies open for non-EU residents, including remote options.

Exemplifying these opportunities, two leading Latvian tech players, fintech frontrunner Twino and print-on-demand dropshipping platform Printify, will share their experience of building a multinational team of ambitious industry professionals.

The event is organized by TechChill, the leading international industry event in the Baltic states, in partnership with Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), Printify, and Twino.

  • Twino CEO Anastasija Oleinika: “The Baltics have become the most vibrant emerging fintech hub in Europe with rapid growth. We are attracting increasing numbers of multinational companies, as the region is able to provide great conditions for both businesses and talent. We can see that many regional fintech industry frontrunners, including Twino, attracted by the excellent infrastructure, relatively low operational costs and highly skilled workforce, have chosen Latvia to be the headquarters for their operations. As an important part of Latvia’s ecosystem, Twino can assure incoming companies and talents that our industry offers an excellent working environment, including widespread remote work options, stability and security together with an ecosystem where people can connect easily.”
  • Printify CTO Edgars Peics: “Printify is a transparent e-commerce platform with tens of thousands of customers globally, and we are planning to continue our rapid growth in 2021, building a world-class team with the most talented and ambitious people. You might have heard stories about thriving, challenging, scaling and learning engineering cultures in big tech companies. Printify has one we call engineering paradise. I invite you to come see it for yourself. With our work-from-anywhere approach team members can decide whether they wish to relocate to Riga, in which case Printify covers all relocation costs; or work remotely from home. There are currently more than 100 open positions in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Design and more, as we expect to grow our team considerably this year.”

Background note: For the past years, the Baltics have become one of the fastest-growing regions with a robust technology ecosystem representing a large number of innovative companies. From early-stage startups to successful growth-stage tech companies, these players invest in talent. The region’s digital-focused infrastructure, high quality of life, affordable business costs, and flexible regulations serve as solid grounds for ambitious start-ups and professionals. Latvia, in particular, is among the most startup-friendly countries in the world. Its business environment provides one of the highest GDP growth rates in the European Union, as well as low costs of operation, easy access to the EU market, favorable immigration policies and fast-track start-up visas for industry talent and founders. As digital transformation is changing the labor market, and especially in the context of the global pandemic, Latvian IT and tech companies are now hiring remotely. Physical relocation is no longer required to join the high-growth teams.
