New Russian AI and cloud investment firm backs 3D rendering company Megarender

Russian 3D rendering company Megarender has secured $3 million from Scalo Technologies, a firm launched earlier this year to invest in artificial intelligence and B2B cloud services.

Megarender facilitates access to powerful servers to increase considerably the speed of 3D rendering. Customers may thus use such software as 3ds MAX, Arnold, Blender, Cinema 4D, Corona Renderer, Maya,  Maxwell, Mental Ray, Modo, V-Ray, Vue, etc.

The company claims to provide access to some 400 servers for more than 8,000 companies and freelancers all over the world. These operate in such 3D-graphics fields as architectural visualization, interior design, advertisement, corporate movies and clips, special effects, video game trailers, etc.

The fresh funding will help Megarender buy new hardware equipment, develop a new version of its platform, and accelerate its international development.

“We aim to become one of the five largest global online 3D rendering services in the next three years, providing a convenient and affordable product for visualizers, designers, VFX artists and other CGI specialists around the world,” Rusbase quoted Megarender founder Viktor Yurkov as saying.

As reported by VC.RU, Scalo Technologies has already backed such startups ad Neuro.net and Handl, aiming to invest $50 million or more until 2023.
