Earlier this month the Eastern Ring campus of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) won the Prix Versailles Campuses Award.
Endorsed by the UNESCO and the International Union of Architects, the Prix Versailles Award is a major world architecture and design award. Its judges panel is headed by Francesco Bandarin, former Assistant Director-General for Culture at UNESCO and also includes David Adjaye, Ferran Arià, Iris van Herpen, Alondra de la Parra, Kazuyo Sejima, Philippe Starck and Thomas Vonier.
Along with eight other awarded organizations, Skoltech will attend the Prix Versailles World Ceremony at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on September 12.
Established in 2011 in collaboration with MIT, Skoltech is a private graduate research institute. It is located on the outskirts of Moscow, in the same area as the Skolkovo innovation hub.
In 2017, Skoltech president Prof. Alexander Kuleshov was made an officer of France’s Ordre national du Mérite (National Order of Merit).
