Severgroup, a group of companies controlled by steel magnate Alexey Mordashov, has acquired GetLean, a Moscow-based startup providing courses for healthier food and lifestyle. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded by Yulia Gurbanova in 2016, the young company has a team of 10 people, including three full-time employees. Its “science-based” 12-week program is sold online starting from 14,700 rubles (around $225 at the current exchange rate).
The company will be integrated to Severgroup as part of the ‘Severgroup Medicine’ department, which was launched in 2017.
That same year, Severgroup took control of an online education startup, Netology, which is also known as TalentTech.
Severgroup also has stakes in e-commerce company Utkonos, travel agency TUI and telco Tele2 Russia, not to mention its assets in such traditional industries as mining, power generation and media.
