DST Global leads giant round for Indian food delivery startup

DST Global, a major global venture fund managed by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, led a $210 million round for the Indian food delivery startup Swiggy, TechCrunch has reported.

Another leading investor was the startup’s earlier backer Naspers. The round brought the company to a $1.3 billion valuation.

According to CrunchBase, Swiggy has raised to date $465.5 million in total.

Milner personally took part in several earlier rounds of investment in the startup, including his participation in a $16.8 million round in 2015 and a $35 million round in 2016.

In 2014, the fund led a $210 million investment round in leading Indian online retailer Flipkart. In 2015, it led a $400 million round and a $500 million round for another Indian startup, Ola, a mobile app for cab booking, says CrunchBase.
