Russian technologies shine at SLUSH Singapore

Oz Forensics, a Russian startup developing a cutting-edge document management solution and a graduate of the GenerationS-2016 startup accelerator, has made it to the finale of the competition of this year’s edition of SLUSH Singapore.

This top-tier international startup competition is being held as part of the Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH 2017). Every year SLUSH Singapore brings together over 300 startups from Europe, the USA, South-East Asia, India, China, and Japan to showcase their projects to investors from the largest multinational corporations and mass media. The winners will be offered an opportunity to visit startup capitals — San Francisco, Tokyo, Helsinki, Shanghai — and showcase their projects to the global venture community.

“Becoming SWITCH winners will help us attract customers from the banking sector and scale up the business. We are now planning to enter the Asia-Pacific market,” said Oz Forensics COO and co-founder Svetlana Efimova.

“The high appreciation of Russian developers’expertise strengthens the global reputation of the country’s innovation industry and comes as a sign of international recognition of GenerationS,” stated Mikhail Antonov, Deputy Director General and Director of Innovative Infrastructure Development at RVC.

The Oz Forensics software determines the authenticity of digital documents and images, providing biometric identification and protection against digital fraud. This solution has already been used by a variety of organizations to check 5 million documents and images, allowing them to saving some $500,000.

Earlier this year, the startup won GenerationS-2016’s FinTech track award; it also won the international SWIFT Innotribe Challenge in St. Petersburg.

Four other GenerationS alumni presented their solutions at SWITCH 2017:

  • LocalGuide, which presented its mobile tourist assistance service Palaround;
  • Panda Money, a mobile application to teach children financial basics;
  • NWTN, a brokerage platform for up-to-date analytics for individual investors;
  • Synthes , which presented its ‘Phoenix3D’ solution for powder metallurgy and additive machines.

Playkey, another Russian startup which has developed a video game streaming service, was among SLUSH Singapore’s nine awarded companies.
