RT-Business Development, a subsidiary of the government-backed tech corporation Rostec, is launching a new company dedicated to the advancement of Russian digital products on the international market.
Aiming to virtually cover the whole world except Western countries, Rosinformexport will operate in a variety of markets – from Eastern Europe, to the Middle-East, South and South-East Asia, Africa and Latin America, according to Rostec’s press release.
The operating work of Rosinformexport with foreign governments will be carried out in coordination with Russia’s foreign affairs and other ministries.
“With the creation of a new structure we were guided by two fundamental considerations: economic benefit and the necessity for the IT-industry to be developed in our country through the development of new sales’ markets”, Rosinformexport’s general manager Pavel Basin stated last month.
From e-government to healthcare applications
“We are focused on the development of the competence of Russian IT companies and developers and of consultants with successful experience in public sector projects, on Russian territory as well as abroad”, he added.
Rosinformexport claims that its portfolio already includes over 200 information systems for the automation of public administration. Among them are “Electronic government” and “Vybory” [Elections] as well as applications in the fields of healthcare, housing and communal services, municipal payments and many others.
The capacity of the IT-market for the public sector of developing countries is close to $500 billion, according to estimates cited by Basin.
