Q&A service TheQuestion raises $500,000, opens offices in Berlin and London

Russian Q&A service TheQuestion is opening representative offices in London and Berlin to develop internationally, while keeping its R&D capacities in Moscow, Russian magazine Sekret Firmy reported last week. The move comes just after the company completed a $500,000 round of funding, following an initial round of the same amount.

Among the investors are “owners of media and technology companies,” according to Sekret Firmy.

While the identities of these businessmen have been disclosed, Russian tech blog Roem.ru believes that Yandex CEO Arkady Volozh  might be involved. The information, however, has not been confirmed.

TheQuestion’s content appears on the Russian search engine, notes Roem.

The company was founded in 2014 by radio journalist Tonya Samsonova.

Every month, TheQuestion is visited by 1.5 million unique users. TheQuestion makes money on ad sales and corporate accounts for companies. Among clients are Booking.com, Anywayanyday, Binbank and others.

The company does not disclose its financial results, but claims that it is EBITDA positive.
