SimilarWeb, a major global web and mobile traffic data provider, has just released a report about the recent rends in Russian traffic to shopping websites.
Among the key findings:
- The share of Russia’s mobile web shopping traffic seriously lags behind retail traffic in U.K. and Germany, and is more on par with France.
- Organic search is a key traffic driver for Russia’s e-retailers, with 12 of the 15 Russian online shopping categories researched securing more than 40% of their desktop traffic from organic search in April 2016.
- Site visits from mobile devices in Russia saw significant decrease from April 2015 to April 2016. The average visit duration and average pages per visit declined more than 11% each, while the bounce rate climbed almost 4%.
- During the same period, Russian e-commerce sites saw increases in visitor engagement. The bounce rate had the biggest improvement, deceasing nearly 23%.

The leading e-commerce and related sites by traffic in April 2016 were classifieds platform Avito.ru, Chinese marketplace Aliexpress, Yandex marketplace Yandex.Market, Alibaba.com, Wildberries.ru, Ozon.ru, eBay, Dns-shop.ru, Ulmart.ru and Mvideo.ru.
