Russia’s Run Capital invests in UK P2P lending platform

Earlier this month iBondis, a London, UK-based online P2P lending platform for SMEs, closed a venture capital funding round of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Run Capital, with participation from an unnamed institutional investor and an individual investor.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the service in Europe, mainly in Italy and Germany, grow the team, continue to develop the platform.

Led by Christian Nothacker, CEO, and Alex Riesenkampff, CCO, iBondis offers “business loans in just three days.” Its platform features an automated rating system to assess the risk of borrowers. It also allows investors to lend small amounts to many companies for diversification purposes.

Run Capital was launched in 2014 by Romanenko and other executives from Qiwi, a major Russian payment company. The fund has invested in such companies as Russian booking service WeatlasCalifornia-based mobile marketing platform AppInTopinternational news aggregator ANews, and others.

Last month, Run Capital led a £1 million seed round in Rezatec, a British satellite data company.
