Tech billionaire Elon Musk is known for being a bit eccentric. Last year, he blew up the internet when he told a Bloomberg reporter that he would like to die on Mars, but that his family “fears Russia will assassinate me [first].”

Contemplating the prospects for a heated competition between Roscosmos and private US aerospace firm SpaceX for dominance in the delivery of cargo into space over the next decade, Russian journalist and military analyst Aleksandr Sitnikov ponders whether Elon Musk is really justified in his apparent paranoia that the Russians are out to get him.
