Russian company sells white-label cloud storage solution to Vodafone Turkey

The Turkish division of Vodafone is now providing its customers with a cloud storage offer using a platform created by Russia’s ASD Tehnologies. Christened ‘Güvenli Depo’ (Safe Storage), this cloud service was launched earlier this month together with a 4.5G network across Turkey.

Cloudike, the solution developed by ASD Technologies, “enables mobile carriers and device OEMs to extend their own ecosystem by providing a cloud service similar to those provided by DropBox, Google, Apple but under their own brand and without having to invest years of R&D.”

“We’ve shown that companies from Russia’s regions can successfully compete on the international hi-tech market, thereby laying the foundations for the growth of the innovations segment of the Russian economy,” said ASD Technologies General Director Dmitry Malin.

Founded in 2009, ASD Technologies has its development center in Nizhny-Novgorod.

South Korean money

The company offers cloud storage solutions for both individual users and businesses. Among its clients and partners are Hitachi, Huawei, Korea Telecom, LG Electronics and LG CNS as well as such Russian heavyweights like MegaFon, Mail.Ru Group, Sberbank and others.

In 2014, ASD Technologies attracted around $1 million investment from South Korean venture funds in exchange for a 15-20% stake to expand internationally. The company also received a similar amount in grants from the South Korean government, Malin told the Russian tech news portal CNews.ru.

In 2015, ASD Technologies became a resident company of Skolkovo, the international tech hub under completion on the outskirts of Moscow. However, it has not received any grants so far from the Skolkovo Foundation, according to CNews.
