Pioneers Moscow, the Russia branch of European entrepreneurship event series Pioneers Festival, will hold its first event in Russia on March 12, with the aim to “empower and connect the Russian and international entrepreneurial ecosystems towards a sustainable technological future.” The event will take place in Digital October in the center of the Russian capital.
While other events of Pioneers Global series around the world tend to gather startups from specific sectors, such as mobile apps and communications services, Pioneers Moscow is calling for participation by the most promising new ventures in such sectors as robotics and manufacturing, energy and environment, life science, travel and transport, data and business, financial services, digital entertainment, and food and agriculture.

A gateway to Europe
Beyond giving Russian entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch in English in front of an international audience, Pioneers Moscow aims to “open a gateway for European venture capital to enter Russia at large.”
Seven local startups will be selected to compete at Pioneers Moscow, with the winner receiving a ticket to Pioneers Festival.
“Many Russian companies are looking for knowledge how to expand business to Europe, Asia and around the world. Pioneers Moscow includes education, expert session, showcase and where they can find contacts, knowledge and present their project around the Russian and international Global Pioneers community,” the organizers say.
Pioneers Festival is a leading European entrepreneurship event focused on startups which are pioneering future technologies and solutions. It will be held on of May 23 and 24, 2016 in the Hufburg Royal Palace in Vienna. The event will host over 3,000 entrepreneurs and investors from all over the world and showcase their technological achievements.
