Meanwhile, a Russian startup that has created a mobile interface to “offer a simple and convenient access to all local information,” secured $100,000 from unnamed individual investors. The deal took place in late 2014, but was revealed only last week by Russian tech blog Firrma.ru.
The startup initially received support from the IIDF (FRII in Russian, the country’s largest seed fund), but left its acceleration program.
Meanwhile’s app displays information on virtually any local event, from flashmobs, to street festivals, to political meetings. It will also inform you about the opening of a new restaurant, or sales starting in a boutique in the neighborhood.
The app is available in Russian language only on the App Store and Google Play.
