Samara State Aerospace University (SSAU) in the Lower Volga area has set up a laboratory to process big data for a wide range of sectors, using its own hardware and software solutions, the Association of Russia’s Innovation Regions reported last week.
According to SSAU president V. A. Soifer, the results of research and data processing may help specialists in medicine, information networks, location services, online services, transport, and interactive systems.
“This systemic approach to tapping big data will enable the Samara region and SSAU to solve a large number of problems in scientific development and technical modelling in such fields as aerospace, mechanical engineering, security, and others,” the source quoted Vice Chairman of the Samara Regional Government S. V. Kazarin as saying.
