Following President Vladimir Putin’s visit to New Delhi in December, 15 IT companies from Skolkovo, the international tech hub under completion on the outskirts of Moscow, will travel to India next month, reports the Skolkovo Foundation.
The companies will take part in IndiaSoft, a major industry conference and B2B networking event organized every year to bring global companies, buyers and investors under one roof. This year’s edition will be held in New Delhi on February 12-14. Around 160 companies from 70 countries are reported to be taking part in the event this year.
“Participation in IndiaSoft further strengthens Skolkovo’s ties with the subcontinent, which have been forged over the last year and are already showing serious results,” said Igor Bogachev, Skolkovo vice president and director of the IT cluster.
“Many of our startups are already major players on international markets, and exposure of this kind can only serve to push the companies to new heights,” he added.
It is the first time Skolkovo is sending a delegation to IndiaSoft, which is now in its tenth year. The agreement to do so was signed in the presence of Putin as part of a raft of deals to ramp up cooperation in the high-tech sector.
Among Skolkovo’s participants at IndiaSoft are: 3d-tek, a videowall developer; inventory managers GoodsForecast; cloud video surveillance platform Ivideon; CAD component developer SZD Labs; ABBYY Language Services; real-time positioning systems developer AlterGeo; banking graphical user interface developer CashOff; unified communication and videoconferencing company Freeng; software developer Kintech Lab; robotics firm Navirobot; data transmission specialists OTS; structural monitoring innovators SODIS Lab; video infrastructure and business intelligence companySynesis; cloud communication developers Zingaya; and mobile data traffic specialists Telum, developer of the Ranberry 4G/LTE cell.
Skolkovo’s Indian trip will be the latest in a string of foreign events advertising Russia’s top startups: More than 50 Skolkovo residents exhibited at Slush, Europe’s biggest tech conference, in Helsinki in November, which came around the same time as the IT cluster road show to the United States.
In September 2014, a delegation of scientists, educators and ministry officials from India paid a visit to the Skolkovo Foundation on a fact-finding mission to study the opportunities available for Indian students and startups in Russia.
