Last month, Russian software industry association Russoft organized the presence of Russian IT firms at a major Dutch technological event – The Hague Tech 2014. This initiative was supported by the Westholland Foreign Investment Agency.
The expo specializes in innovative IT technologies, equipment and solutions. One of the key parts of the event was the Smart City Conference where companies presented their solutions and technologies for the creation of a global information environment for a megapolis. The Hague Tech gathered over 600 delegates from the government sector, IT corporations and tech startups.
The Russian delegation included: First Line Software, Reksoft, Lanit-Tercom, Arcadia and Kentor – companies specializing in custom software development; and Wiziware, Acrodis and E-ngineers, which presented their own products and solutions.
“The Netherlands is one of the most promising European markets for Russian custom software development companies. Among First Line’s solutions and projects applicable to the context of a smart city that were presented at Hague Tech were a smart street parking system, a Wi-Fi-based retail analytics system and a solution for traffic video monitoring,” said Alexander Pozdniakov, CEO of First Line Software.
“We clearly felt that the Netherlands do not have enough engineers, and this situation creates opportunities for Russian companies. During the current difficult political situation, we were touched by the friendly attitude and openness of Dutch companies and government representatives,” said Denis Akimov, the General Director of Kentor.
Last year, an important Netherlands-Russia business event was held in Amsterdam, simultaneously with Vladimir Putin’s visit to this Holland. The event gathered a wide range of IT business representatives from both countries.
