Top Russian university Higher School of Economics (HSE) has teamed up with eSolutions, an e-commerce service provider launched by the Otto Group, in an ambitious academic and professional partnership.
While eSolutions specialists will participate in some of the university’s educational programs, the students will offer marketing research for the German company and benefit from internship and employment opportunities.
The two partners also announced that they will offer joint initiatives in industry seminars, conferences and other events.
The partnership has already materialized in a lecture on e-commerce by eSolutions martketing director Vitaly Panarin at HSE’s Business Informatics faculty.
The lack of qualified human resources appears to be one of the most difficult issues faced by the fast growing e-commerce industry in Russia, according to a recent industry report by East-West Digital News. All key positions are affected, from general managers and project managers, to e-marketing specialists and IT and fulfillment teams.
Should the partnership come to fruition, it could contribute to provide the e-commerce industry with a new generation of adequately trained professionals.
eSolutions was launched by the Otto Group in late 2012. The business unit provides third-party players with a range of e-commerce services, leveraging the group’s important capacities in this field. One of its divisions, eTraction, provides brands and manufacturers with services to create and develop online stores for clothing, footwear and accessories.
The Otto Group is among the top online retailers in Russia.
