Social network Odnoklassniki and WWF team up to help endangered species

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Russia’s second most popular social network, Odnoklassniki.ru, have teamed up to help Russia’s rare and endangered species. This week, the two launched a “Rare Page” on the social network’s 404-error page to encourage users to help protect and preserve rare animals.

Users who incorrectly type the social network’s address will be redirected to an error page that features information on an endangered species and a photo.

The users are then encouraged to access the WWF’s Odnoklassniki page, join the social network’s WWF group, or make a donation. The Odnoklassniki WWF page and official group were also created as a part of this project.

Today in Russia over 100 species are at risk of extinction. The WWF is working to reduce this figure, and the organization has played an important role in the fight to save Russia’s Siberian tigers.
