Cisco Systems, a world leader in networking equipment, has officially opened its tech center at Skolkovo as part of its ongoing cooperation with the Russian tech park. The center, on a 700 square meter site in the ‘hypercube’ will house Cisco’s innovation program in Russia.
Cisco’s cooperation with Skolkovo began 3 years ago, when an agreement was signed to promote entrepreneurialism and sustainable innovation in Russia. The new center will also display developments achieved by the company, including technologies and products created in Russia.
There will be six zones at the site:
- Collaborative solutions
- Video surveillance technology
- Data processing center
- Wireless networks
- Smart + Connected Communities (S+CC)
- Products “Made in Russia”.
The center will also host seminars for startupers, where they can meet world-leading experts and other representatives of the innovation ecosystem.
Another example of Skolkovo-Cisco cooperation is the Skolkovo Innovation Award: Powered by Cisco, which has a prize fund of 5.25 million rubles ($170,000).
