Authorities in the Krasnoyarsk region in Siberia have unveiled plans to build a 3 billion ruble (approximately $100 million) hi-tech industrial park in the region, the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reported, citing a source in the regional Ministry of Investment and Innovation.
According to the source, more than two thirds of the total amount is expected to come from private investors, with regional and federal coffers kicking in the rest. The new techno-park is slated for completion “within the next two years.”
Under the plans, the project will include construction of a production and laboratory area, an experimental lab building, engineering and business centers, and an administrative building.
The tech park will be built next to the Krasnoyarsk Regional Business Incubator and is expected to accommodate 78 resident companies with a total staff of about 1,500 people.
The Krasnoyarsk region hopes that by the end of 2016, the residents will be able to start selling almost $175 million worth of products and services per year.
