Abstract submission deadline: April 1, 2013 – The VII International Forum “From Science to Business” will take place on May 15-17 2013 in St. Petersburg. Traditionally the Forum gathers representatives of universities, government, business, and institutes of development. This year’s edition is dedicated to the globalization of innovations.
The organizers believe that the expansion of the global markets is vital to large Russian companies and start-ups. Also, success in building a national innovation system depends on integration into global innovation.
The development of these areas requires well thought-out and time-tested national policies, specific mechanisms and incentives for subjects of innovation activity, as well as overcoming numerous, including administrative, barriers.
The basis of economic globalization in the XXI century is innovation networks, which include scientific and technical resources of many countries. Currently, Russia is still on the path to integration.
The forum is a meeting place for the innovative East and West, which allows participants to share the experience and form new agreements and contracts. The goal of the Forum is to discuss the current situation, problems and developmental trends of the Innovative zone around higher education and science institutions with active participation from state authorities and business (big, medium and small) in cooperation with the science and research community.
Special attention will be given to open innovations, foresight and green technologies. A special accent will be made on discussion of human resource problems for innovative projects. The III Youth School will continue to function within the framework of the Forum.
Among the themes to be discussed are:
- practices of the world’s high-tech powers of supporting the globalization of the innovation process;
- challenges and threats of commercialization of developments in the global economy;
- foresight for the development of hi-tech industries;
- participation in the international Technological platforms as a method of integration of Russian innovative companies in world scientific and technical progress;
- integration of small innovative enterprises in the ecosystem of innovation activity of global corporations;
- the introduction and adaptation of advanced foreign technologies by Russian enterprises in those areas where there is a significant lag;
- globalization of education and the international transfer of competences in the field of innovations;
