Woerden, the Netherlands, and Moscow, Russia – As cross-border sales to Russia already amount to several billion dollars per year, E-Commerce Facts, a leading European resource on e-commerce, and East-West Digital News, the first international resource on Russian digital industries, are teaming up to provide international audiences with full coverage of the fast-growing Russian e-commerce market.
While a regular flow of news from Russia will be offered on the E-Commerce Facts website, the two companies will cooperate by conducting market research and by jointly organizing e-commerce related events and training programs.
“We are very pleased to have a relationship with EWDN, as the Russian online retail scene is offering more and more opportunities to international brands and e-retailers,” said E-Commerce Facts’ Chief Editor Janine Nöthlichs. “There is an obvious need for reliable news and data from this still little-known market.”
“Knowledge of market specifics – including marketing, the processing of payments, customs clearance and delivery – is required to penetrate the Russian market,” notes Adrien Henni, EWDN co-founder and chief editor. “But for those who overcome these obstacles, Russia can be a true eldorado.”
The Russian e-commerce market amounted to approximately $13 billion in 2012, not including cross-border sales, EWDN’s research study indicates. With a yearly growth of at least 25% – reaching 100% in certain segments – the market may reach $50 billion by the end of the decade and exceed $100 billion in the long-term.
Among EWDN’s other international media partners are Arctic Startup (Nordic Europe), Frenchweb (France), Marchmont News (Russia), Net Media Europe (25 IT websites across Europe), Russia Beyond the Headlines (online and print publications across the globe), Silicon Allee (Germany), Tech Week Europe (UK), Venture Village (Europe), and 01 Net (France).
