Authorities in the Republic of Bashkortostan, in Russia’s mid-Volga area, have pooled their efforts with those of several companies and organizations in the region to set up a local radio electronics technology cluster, the news portal I-mash.ru reports.
The new technology cluster is being established to promote collaboration among regional telecommunications equipment makers, radio electronics equipment manufacturers, and microelectronic component developers, according to Bashkortostan’s Ministry of Industry and Innovation Policy.
At present, the participants in the new cluster are reported to include: Ufa Instrument Making (in the regional capital city of Ufa), Ufa Unit Production, Ufa Molniya Scientific and Production Center, and a number of other regional radio engineering and telecom equipment companies including Solitol, Promsvyaz, and Poligon. The Bashkortostan Chamber of Commerce is also part of the alliance.
The local technology park ‘Techno-Park Bashkortostan’ has been appointed to coordinate joint activities for the cluster participants.
