Microsoft, Skolkovo, and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) are jointly organizing in St. Petersburg the final stage of ‘Imagine Cup 2013,’ this year’s international student technology contest. The event will occur in July in Russia’s former capital.
Microsoft’s Imagine Cup is a leading international student technology competition. Approximately $340,000 in total prize money will be offered this year, with the grand prize winner of each of three main nomination areas earning $50,000.
The contest is meant to help technology students around the world develop their potential, sharpen their professional and entrepreneurial skills, and increase their global competitiveness. This year, Imagine Cup will feature three big competitions: games, innovation, and world citizenship – for apps “that could change someone’s life.”
The choice of St. Petersburg to host the grand prize round is intended to raise the competition’s popularity in Russia.
