Pruffi.ru, a headhunting agency that uses social networks to identify and hire professionals for the Russian Internet industry, has raised $1.2 million from Almaz Capital, a leading Russian venture fund.
Almaz received a stake of “just under 30%,” Pruffi founder Alena Vladimirskaya told East-West Digital News. The funds will be used partly for international expansion, including to the US market.
Pruffi’s model is unique on the Russian market, Vladimirskaya explains. Its social application, named Pruffi Friends, runs on Facebook and Vkontakte (VK.com), Russia’s leading social network, and will be made available on Odnoklassniki, another major social network, in the forthcoming weeks.
The service can also be used from mobile devices in iOS and Android versions.
Pruffi recently affirmed its reputation by publishing ratings of Russia’s best startup teams and industry professionals.
Pruffi initially received angel funding from Mail.ru Group VP Alexey Basov, who retained his shares in full during the latest round, according to Vladimirskaya.
