Google, the US search giant, will offer AdWords vouchers of up to 2,000 rubles, or approximately $60, to any company purchasing Parallels’ solutions and having its website hosted by a Parallels partner.
The offer targets small and mid-sized businesses in particular, in a bid to stimulate them to promote their products through contextual advertising. A mere 38% of Russian SMBs have a website, according to Parallels.
The two companies announced they are ready to offer vouchers of a total amount of up to $10 million – although one may doubt that Parallels will succeed in attracting so many new clients.
“Google aims to close the gap with Yandex, which generates approximately three times as much in context ad sales on the Russian market,” said Data Insight e-commerce expert Boris Ovchinnikov in an exchange with East-West Digital News.
The co-marketing program, which will be initially launched in Russia, will be extended to the US and UK market, according to Parallels’ press release.
Parallels is an international leader in virtualization and automation software that optimizes computing for consumers, businesses, and service providers. Founded in Russia in 1999, Parallels is now established in North America, Europe, and Asia.
