The Russian holding company ProfMedia is combining all its TV assets into one group. According to the Russian business daily Kommersant and Profmedia’s corporate website, TV3 , MTV and 2×2 will now be parts of a single structure.
These channels will be headed by Nikolai Kartozya, formerly a director of prime time programs at NTV. The aim of such unification is to increase the market share and cut costs.
Owned by private investment company Interros Group, ProfMedia is one of Russia’s largest media groups with a leading position in entertainment. The company manages TV3, MTV Russia, and 2×2 in the television sector, Avtoradio, Energy, Humour FM, and Radio Romantika in the radio sector, Central Partnership on the market for producing and distributing films, Cinema Park on the cinema market, and Afisha magazine in print media, as well as Rambler.ru, Lenta.ru, Afisha.ru, 101.ru, and other brands on the Russian-language Internet.
