Reiman’s Prostor Capital invests in video-focused Dulton

Prostor Capital, a fund co-created in 2011 by former Russian telecom minister Leonid Reiman, announced last week the investment of an undisclosed sum in Dulton Media. Focusing on online video solutions, Dulton is developing such projects as YaTV, a video broadcasting and video on demand service, and Eagle.Platform, a platform for creation and monetization of video projects.

Prostor Capital concentrates on solutions for the public sector, healthcare and education. Among its projects is Dnevnik.ru, an award-winning online education network involving over 16,000 schools and 3 million users. Prostor invested $1.7 million in this startup, according to an unnamed source cited by CNews.ru, an online publication covering Russian telecom and IT markets.

CNews.ru also reported that Prostor supported a company developing software for health regulation and medical care processing. The name of this company remains undisclosed.

Prostor Capital is one of three high-tech funds with which Reiman is closely connected. In May of last year he created and personally invested in – as a partner with VTB, a major state-controlled financial group – the Alternative Capital Investment fund.

Reiman is also a part-owner of NGI, a company that has invested in French Linux developer Mandriva, and of Pingwin Software, which last year became the first Russian company to join the Linux Foundation. Reiman is also a founder of Rosa, a Russian developer of open source software.
