Skolkovo, the innovation hub under construction near Moscow, has set a goal of partnering with 50 additional Russia and foreign venture funds this year, said Skolkovo Investment Director Alexander Lupachev in an exchange last Friday with news agency RIA Novosti.
Skolkovo has enrolled 26 funds so far, including six from foreign countries, which have invested in 34 of the hub’s resident companies, said Lupachev. This is an impressive result considering the relatively small number of funds involved in Russia. Many of these funds were enrolled through innovation fairs or roadshows organized in Russia or abroad, which Skolkovo intends to resume this year.
