The Russian IPTV platform Beeline TV, which is owned by leading mobile operator Vimpelcom, now has over 500,000 subscribers. Launched in Moscow in May 2009 and currently present in 34 large Russian cities, its take up has grown five-fold in less than a year.
Beeline TV has proved to be a driver for the company’s Internet Home service and now includes 23 HD channels in its offer, some in the basic package.
Its on demand service meanwhile consists of over 3,000 movies, TV series and programmes, including content from Disney, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures. Beeline TV has been accessible through the Xbox 360 since April this year.
