Sitronics increases its presence on the Indian market

Leading Russian microelectronic device maker Sitronics signed a commercial agreement earlier this week with Tech Mahindra, a major provider of solutions and services to the telecom industry. Tech Mahindra will promote the OSS/BSS-solutions of Sitronics India on the local market and may participate in the Russian company’s R&D programs, Sitronics announced.

Sitronics has also set up a competence center in India jointly with Shyam Teleservices, a local mobile operator working under the MTS brand, reported ComNews.ru, a Russian site specializing in telecom market news. Both companies are subsidiaries of Sistema, a diversified Russian conglomerate.

The competence center has 60 employees and facilities in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. Next year, the center will be transformed into a full R&D center to develop OSS/BSS solutions serving Sitronics clients in Russia, Europe and Africa.

Sitronics announced in June its intention to open an R&D center in Beijing with ZTE, the second largest Chinese telecom equipment maker.

Sitronics currently has R&D centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague and Athens.
