Russian security firm Group-IB sets foot on US market

Moscow based Group-IB, a provider of cybercrime investigative and forensic services, announced last week that it has opened its first overseas office in New York. The new office will be responsible for company’s expansion into the North American market.

Among the primary tasks of its new office Group-IB lists strengthening ties with local law enforcement agencies and expert communities in the US, as well as representing the interests of American companies operating on the Russian market in Russia and the former Soviet Union. The company also has plans to open new offices in Singapore, UAE and one of the Baltic states.

Founded in 2003, Group-IB currently employs 30 people and posted revenues of 43 million rubles, or some $1.5 million, in 2009. Group-IB is a part of Leta, a larger diversified Russian IT holding.
