Softline Venture Partners announced earlier this week it has invested $500,000 in Copiny, a developer of Saas-based social CRM solutions. The fund received a 25.1% stake in exchange for the investment, Copiny General manager Dmitry Chistov told East-West Digital News.
Copiny was founded just one year ago by a group of programmers from Bryansk, 379 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The company has already created over 2,000 consumer communities for its clients, including such major companies as Danone, Evernote and the café chain Coffee House, according to Softline’s press release.
In early 2011, the startup received angel investment funding from former Adoble Russia CEO and Tvigle.ru co-founder Pavel Cherkashin, who obtained a 10% stake.
Softline Venture Partners is a fund owned by Softline, a leader in the Russian software licensing market. Last February, the fund increased its stake in Emegamall, later rebranded into Magazinga.
