Russia’s Auriga named top engineering outsourcer ahead of global industry players

Moscow-based software developer Auriga has been named the #1 engineering service outsourcing (ESO) provider in the Black Book of Outsourcing, an annual online poll of outsourcing services available worldwide. The poll is conducted by business information provider Datamonitor.

Poll results placed Auriga ahead of such global companies as IBM, Dell, HP and Siemens. Auriga’s understanding of customer needs, its pricing and customer service were particularly appreciated, according to poll respondents

The Russian firm’s nomination came as a surprise since Auriga always positioned itself as a software outsourcing services provider rather than a provider of engineering services.

ESO, however, includes such areas as embedded systems design, research and development, quality management, 3D modeling, product assembly, product design, technical staffing and technical writing. These are typical fields of work of Auriga.

Founded in the early 1990’s by Moscow State University professor Alexey Sukharev, Auriga

provides solutions for medicine, telecom and financial industries as well as solutions for software publishers. The Russian firm has a head office in the US. Over 60% of its clients are located outside of Russia.
